The Arctic vase’s timeless design was created by the renowned Swedish glass artist and silversmith Gunnar Cyrén in the 1960s. At the time, the vase was never taken into production, but after nearly 50 years Warm Nordic decided to bring the design to life based on a sketch found in the attic of Gunnar Cyrén’s family home. Made of mouth-blown opal glass, Arctic is decorated with vertical grooves, with three-dimensional glass bobbles on its oval-shaped bottom. The vase’s unusual shape allows you to arrange your flowers or branches in a variety of ways.

Gunnar Cyrén

Gunnar Cyrén (1931-2013) is one of the most appreciated designers of our time, both in his home country Sweden as well as internationally. In 1959 Cyrén started working at Orrefors glass factory where he created many well-known glass series during the years. In 1991, to celebrate the 90-years of the Nobel Prize Gala, Cyrén created the Nobel-tableware, which still is being used in the annual Nobel Prize Gala.
