Description

The Lokki jug was inspired by the atmosphere of the Finnish capital Helsinki as well as the surrounding archipelago, particularly during summer. The jug has a charming minimalist look with touch of humour: its round shape, matte finish, teeny-tiny spout and large handle add up to an understated but playful design. The Lokki jug, Finnish for ”seagull”, is designed and handcrafted by ceramicist Saija Halko.

Lokki is part of the LOKAL x FDS collection, a collaboration created to spotlight local artisans and designers who perhaps are a little more unknown to the general public. Curated by Lokal Helsinki and Finnish Design Shop, the collection consists of unique, locally-manufactured products made in small-scale production, many even by hand in the designers' own workshops.
