Louis Poulsen's portable VL45 Radiohus lamp mimics the elegant design of the pendant, originally designed for the Radiohus building in Copenhagen. The mastermind behind both the luminaire and the building is architect Vilhelm Lauritzen, who is known for his functionalist architecture in Denmark. The VL45 Radiohus lamp features a beautiful round shade made of mouth-blown glass that filters soft uniform light. Patinated brass details and a leather strap complete the luxurious look.
The portable VL45 Radiohus has a dimming function that allows you to choose either between 4-step or continuous dimming, depending on your space, needs and mood. With up to 5 hours of light at full power, the lamp is easy to charge with the included USB-C cable.

Architect and designer Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894–1984) was one of the most significant Danish architects of his era and a figurehead of Danish functionalism. Lauritzen’s work is still widely visible in various places around Denmark – the Nørrebro Theater, Copenhagen’s Daells Varehus and the first terminal of Kastrup Airport are great examples of his modernist style. Lauritzen often designed also the furniture and lighting for his buildings, and some of his best-known design pieces are the Radiohuset lamps, designed for Frederiksberg’s radio building and produced by Louis Poulsen. “No life without esthetics” was Lauritzens firmly held belief, and he considered architecture as a form of applied art. Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, founded by Lauritzen in 1922, is nowadays one of the most valued architectural offices of Denmark.
