Dori bedspread, 195 x 245 cm, green
Description
HAY's Dori bedspread dresses up the bedroom with a play on contrasts: two different shades are used both in the fabrics and in the grid-pattern quilting that gives the design its contrast. The bed cover is made from organic cotton, as is the padding that softens the inside. In size, the bedspread is best suited to making up a medium-sized double bed.
The Dori collection is designed by Doshi Levien, an Indian-Scottish duo, and takes its name from the Hindi word for thread. The organic cotton home textiles draw on influences from both designers' cultures, and the collection's subtly playful, graphic look pairs easily with all kinds of interiors.

Doshi Levien is a London-based design office founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi (b. 1971) and Jonathan Levien (b. 1972), who met each other while studying at London’s Royal College of Art. Before moving to London, Doshi studied at India’s National Institute of Design, and Levien, originally from Scotland, has training in fine cabinet making and industrial design. Doshi Levien’s designs include furniture, fashion, lighting, technology and homeware, combining creative esthetics of visual culture with precise industrial techniques. A fine example of their style is the Uchiwa armchair designed for HAY.
