Vitra’s Cone Chair is a playfully geometric design classic created by Verner Panton in 1958. As the name suggests, the lounge chair is built around a cone-shaped frame that rises on one side to form a curved backrest, offering soft, supportive comfort. Set on a swivel steel base, the Cone Chair’s expressive silhouette – reminiscent of an ice cream cone – is finished with high-quality wool upholstery.
Verner Panton originally designed the Cone Chair at his father’s request for the Kom Igen restaurant in Copenhagen. Tasked with creating the entire interior, Panton developed the striking conical lounge chair that has since become an icon of Danish design. The Cone Chair and the later Heart Cone Chair bring a bold, uplifting presence to interiors, whether in a living room, office, or public space.
