Description

Terra Tove by Juha Soisalo is a tribute to Finnish author and artist Tove Jansson, created in August 2001, only a couple of months after Jansson’s passing. The silkscreen print is part of a numbered edition, with an edition size of 100 impressions. It features the artist’s signature written in pencil on the lower right-hand corner of the print.

Juha Soisalo (1941–2016) was a Finnish contemporary artist and painter, born in Helsinki, whose body of work represents abstract constructivism. His works often feature motifs inspired by nature, the sea and the sky as well as some elements of mysticality and surrealism, as well as characteristics of pop art. His art has been exhibited in over 50 exhibitions in Finland and in around 20 exhibitions in other countries. Some of his works can be found in the collections of the Finnish National Gallery, the Amos Rex art museum in Helsinki and the Sara Hilde?n Art Museum in Tampere.
