Pieces of Nordic Happiness

Normann Copenhagen | Dining tables

Normann Copenhagen is a Danish design brand founded by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen in 1999. Ever since their first product, the iconic Norm 69 lamp, Normann Copenhagen has strived to challenge the conventional rules of design. This reflects in using traditional materials in unconventional ways and combinations.

Normann Copenhagen's fresh and innovative attitude derives from collaborations with established designers as well as the industry’s fresh talents. During the years, Normann Copenhagen's furniture, lighting, textiles and home accessories have won dozens of different design awards. Their flagship store in Copenhagen is also a flagship store of modern Danish design – located in an old cinema, the 1700 square-meter showroom has often been regarded as the coolest store in Copenhagen.

Dining tables with a Nordic twist

Dining tables invite people to gather together to enjoy good food and the company of family and friends. That's why a dining table should be large enough to seat not only the members of your household but your guests as well. It is easy to lay a proper feast on a large dining table, but smaller tables can also cater for many, especially if you choose an extendable dining table with separate extension plates. Many homes have actually two dining tables: a small dining table or a high bar table for everyday meals in the kitchen, and a larger one in the dining room or lounge.

Finnish Design Shop’s selection includes timeless, Scandinavian dining tables for homes of all sizes. The colour range varies from classic black, white and grey to bright shades and natural wood finishes, and the tabletop shape can be either rectangular, square, round or oval. Our selection covers rustic farmhouse tables, airy pedestal tables as well as light, folding tables. The materials include wood, metal and plastic, and the tabletop can be coated with, for example, easy-to-care laminate or linoleum. If you fancy some extra luxury, you can choose a dining table with a marble top. And if you appreciate adaptability, you can set up a unique dining table by combining separate trestle legs with the tabletop of your choice.

Finnish Design Shop has curated a beautiful collection of dining tables ranging from early 1900s classics to mid-century design and the latest novelties of contemporary Scandinavian design. Our most popular tables include the bent L-leg dining tables designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in the 1930s as well as modern dining tables by the Danish Hay, Muuto and Menu. Once you’ve found the dining table you like, it is time to choose the dining chairs to match. Welcome to shop with us!
