Danish designer Magnus Stephensen (1903-1984) was famous for his refined, unornamental style which often had references to Japanese design. Stephensen graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1931. In his early career he focused on architecture, but later he designed many smaller objects and silverware for Danish brands such as Kay Bojesen, Georg Jensen and Royal Copenhagen. Stephensen was awarded several times at the Milan Triennale, and in 1948 he received the Eckersberg Medal.
