Although he passed away at just 34, the French artist became a leading voice of the Nouveau Réalisme movement, a pioneer of performance art, and an influential forerunner to later developments such as Minimalism and Pop Art.
In Fire Color – FC 17, three of his signature colors take center stage: pink, gold, and the artist’s iconic “Klein Blue.” Known respectively as Monopink, Monogold, and Monoblue, these hues often appear in Klein’s work and are frequently exhibited together as a triptych, even though each piece is an independent artwork. This vibrant poster highlights Klein’s distinctive, intensely expressive use of color and makes a striking focal point in both minimalist and more daring interiors.

The French artist Yves Klein (1928–1962) is remembered above all for a color. Working with a chemist, he developed his own pigment, called International Klein Blue, and registered it as a trademark. In his monochrome paintings, he set out to eliminate subject matter, leaving only color and its effect on the viewer.
Klein’s career lasted just eight years, but in that time he made performances and conceptual works alongside his paintings. Before becoming an artist, he taught judo. That background showed in his interest in the body, in traces and in movement. Klein died of a heart attack at the age of 34.
