Silk Lantern pendant, natural white silk - semi matt black
Description
GUBI's Silk Lantern pendant captures the mood of Japanese lanterns and dresses it in Danish modernism. Ejnar Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen first showed the design at the Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in Copenhagen in 1951, but it never made it into production. Good things come to those who wait, and GUBI has finally brought the Silk Lantern within reach of anyone who loves good design and beautiful light.
The star of the show is the shade the lamp is named after: a lantern in silk, glowing softly from within. The shade sits atop a steel frame solid enough to let it simply float there, doing its quiet work in the room. Wood and brass details finish off the Silk Lantern lamp's elegant look.
