Finarte’s Selene cushion cover is a perfect companion to the brand’s Columbus rug. Both pieces are designed by Eija Rasinmäki and share the same beautifully undulating pattern inspired by ocean waves and scattered islands.
The harmonious, subtly colorful Selene cushion cover feels equally at home on a bed or sofa, whether styled on its own or mixed and matched with other patterned cushions. The front of the cushion is hand-embroidered wool, and the back is made of soft cotton.

Inner cushion sold separately. - Care instructions Can be washed upside down in a gentle wash of 20°C (65F) with a detergent suitable for wool. Do not tumble dry. Shape the product back to its original dimensions when moist. If necessary, iron on the backside with low heat.

Eija Rasinmäki (b. 1945) has left a distinctive mark on the everyday lives of Finnish homes for decades. The textile artist founded her first weaving mill in Loimaa in 1970, and over the years, her unique rag rugs and other rug designs have found their way into both Finnish department stores and international markets. She is also one of the co-founders of the rug brand Finarte and served as the company’s longtime head designer.
Rasinmäki’s work is defined by an uncompromising dedication to quality materials, Finnish craftsmanship and its traditions, as well as a strong drive to push rug design forward in bold new ways. Her life’s work has been widely recognized: she has been granted an artist’s pension, and she received the prestigious Pro Finlandia Medal in 2022.
