Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Per Kirkeby - Untitled 2004, 90 x 70 cm poster
Description
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art's poster features Untitled (2004) by Danish artist Per Kirkeby. Kirkeby was a versatile figure in contemporary art: he was not only a visual artist, academic, and geologist, but also a poet, novelist, and filmmaker. He is widely considered as one of Denmark’s most significant modern artists.
Untitled was shown at Louisiana in 2025 as part of the exhibition At se nærmere, included in the museum’s long-running Louisiana on Paper series. The series highlights works created on paper — drawings, prints and sketches — offering an intimate look into the artistic process. Untitled provides a beautiful glimpse into Kirkeby’s distinctive expression, where the sensitivity of the line and the quiet rhythm of the drawing come vividly to life.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art’s poster collection includes prints from iconic exhibitions held at the Danish museum over the years. Printed on high-quality paper, posters bring a stylish touch of contemporary art to your walls.

The work of the Danish artist Per Kirkeby (1938–2018) ranged widely, from painting and sculpture to literature and film. He trained as a geologist, graduating from the University of Copenhagen in 1964, while at the same time studying at Eks-skolen, a radical art school founded as a counterweight to the conservative teaching of the Royal Danish Academy. Geology never remained a side note for Kirkeby, who took part in several research expeditions to Greenland. The layers and forms of the earth run through his paintings as well. Over his career, Kirkeby also published more than fifty books and directed over thirty films. He was a professor at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts and the Städelschule in Frankfurt, and his work is held in collections including Tate, MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Center Pompidou. His awards include the Finnish Ars Fennica Prize, which he received in 1993.
