Description

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art's poster features a work by Danish artist Henning Damgård-Sørensen, originally shown in the museum’s Words and Images exhibition in 1971. Bringing together posters from 16 countries, the exhibition offered a comprehensive image of the artistic movements of its time, from Pop Art and Symbolism to Art Nouveau influences and Surrealism.

A century ago, the poster was a sharply contemporary medium: the blend of text and image created a powerful visual message, while rapid printing and large editions made it an effective form of communication alongside traditional newspapers. Damgård-Sørensen’s poster reflects this heritage and remains a striking, graphically compelling addition to modern interiors.
