Description

Klaus Haapaniemi’s Flower Bee cushion cover is illustrated on both sides with an enchanting pattern of a bee buzzing amidst a sea of flowers. The square-shaped cushion cover is made on sumptuous velvet and equipped with a hidden zipper.

Illustrator and designer Klaus Haapaniemi has collaborated with designer Mia Wallenius to create a unique range of home and fashion textiles, inspired by nature and fairy tales. The beautiful patterns follow traditional decorative arts but their style and execution are modern. The finest natural materials combined with detailed patterns create a truly luxurious collection. The wool yarn has been dyed and loomed by hand, and the silk and linen fabric are hand printed.

Klaus Haapaniemi

Klaus Haapaniemi (b. 1970) is one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed illustrators and designers. His distinctive style blends themes drawn from Nordic nature, folklore and mythology with a luxurious and modern esthetic. A graduate of the Lahti Institute of Design, Haapaniemi has created prints for brands like Diesel, Levi’s and Dolce & Gabbana, and illustrated the beloved Iittala tableware series Taika and Satumetsä. Haapaniemi was named Finland’s Designer of the Year in 2008 and was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Design in 2018.

In 2010, Haapaniemi founded his own brand, Klaus Haapaniemi Co., together with his spouse Mia Wallenius. The collection features a range of high-quality textiles and decor items, such as decorative cushions and wallpapers. Having lived in London for many years, the designer now divides his time between Berlin, Germany, and Tampere, Finland.
