A Brief Moment ( ) A Long Tradition
Description
A Brief Moment ( ) A Long Tradition encapsulates over 400 years of porcelain-making history in the Japanese town of Arita within its pages. The book delves into questions such as how porcelain production first arrived in Japan and, naturally, how 1616 / arita japan came to be. It also gives a voice to sixteen different artists, who share their personal views on one of the plate by this Japanese design brand.
The book reflects on 1616 / arita japans’ rich 400-year history of craftsmanship and how it has been brought into the contemporary design scene by Noriyuki Momota in close collaboration with Creative Director and Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara. The collection of 1616 / Arita Japan is presented in its full and the porcelain makers are portrayed. As a chapter 16 artists from different fields were invited to give their personal views on a chosen plate by 1616 / arita japan.
