The first Crate furniture was designed by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1934. At that time, the furniture was made from leftover wooden shipping crates – hence the name of the collection. Today, Rietveld Originals and HAY use lacquered pine as the material. Finished with a weatherproof coating, the Crate low table is ideal for all kinds of outdoor spaces from the terrace to the garden and balcony.
