A-B01 bench, 150 cm, smoked oak
Description
Karimoku Case’s A-B01 bench is a versatile wooden piece designed for both seating and displaying or storing your favourite items. Created by Japanese designer Keiji Ashizawa, the bench reflects the shared values of Japanese and Scandinavian design: clean simplicity, carefully considered proportions, and timeless appeal.
The elegantly understated oak bench is brought to life by its sculptural leg structure, which adds a touch of lightness and subtle contrast to the design. The A-B01 bench can be paired with a separately sold seat cushion, but the beautifully grained wood makes it just as striking on its own.

Keiji Ashizawa (b. 1973) is a Japanese designer based in Tokyo, whose designs are rooted in the attempt of realising the full potential of each material in relation to the function of both the material and the product. Based on this idea, the simple, refined and light shapes typical of Ashizawa’s designs are formed organically during the design process. A particular influence for Ashizawa’s approach to design comes from his ten years of experience as an architect and a steel fabricator before his career as a designer.
