Description

Marimekko's Siirtolapuutarha apron features Maija Louekari’s cheerful design, inspired by the vibrant floral magnificence of summer and tells a story of country life in an urban environment. Since its debut in 2009, this modern classic pattern has brought its lively charm to both textiles and tableware. 

The apron is made of 100% organic cotton and has waist straps and a pocket on the front. The size can be adjusted with the neckband’s snap buttons.

Maija Louekari

Finnish print designer Maija Louekari (b. 1982) is well-known especially for the textile prints designed for Marimekko. Louekari has studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and in 2003 she won a design competition organised jointly by her university and Marimekko. She has worked as a freelance designer for Marimekko ever since.

Louekari finds inspiration for her patterns from everyday life and the small things, people and sounds that surround her. Also different environments from urban metropolises to Finnish forests contribute to her work. Most of Louekari’s large, uniform patterns have been hand-drawn, and she also likes to experiment with different techniques such as paper cutting. Among her most important works are the Siirtolapuutarha and Räsymatto patterns, originally designed for Marimekko's Oiva tableware range in 2009.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

For orders shipped to non-EU countries (excluding the US, Norway, Switzerland and the UK):

  • Product prices are shown without local taxes or import duties
