Tapio Anttila Collection’s Sopiva wall shelf – named after the Finnish word meaning “just right” or “perfectly suitable” – is, true to its name, designed to fit effortlessly into all kinds of interiors and to accommodate a wide variety of items. This pared-back wooden shelf works equally well for storing dishes and jars in the kitchen, displaying books and decorative objects in the living room, or keeping cosmetics and toothbrushes neatly organised in the bathroom.
The Sopiva shelf features a black-painted, curved metal frame paired with three oak-veneered plywood shelves. Thanks to its discreet mounting, the shelf appears to float lightly against the wall. The wooden elements are made from surplus material left over from the production of Tapio Anttila’s ON2 Wood sofa bed, and the design process itself began with the idea of making thoughtful use of these leftover pieces.
