In celebration of its 15th birthday, Finnish Design Shop, together with Joanna Laajisto, has curated an anniversary collection featuring timeless design classics in earthy tones. The collection is available for a limited time only, so get your own collector's item of tomorrow already today!
THE SPECIAL COLLECTION celebrating the 15th anniversary of Finnish Design Shop has been created in collaboration with Artek, Gubi, Iittala, String, Woodnotes and Antrei Hartikainen. The collection consists of some of the most iconic pieces available at Finnish Design Shop as well as brand new design.
The collection’s calm and harmonious color palette has been created by interior designer Joanna Laajisto together with Finnish Design Shop. The colors of the Stool 60s by Artek were updated by Valerio Di Lucente of design practice Julia. The timeless, natural hues have been chosen to honor and highlight the unique character of each product. The shades and materials also go beautifully together and bring a certain coherence to the collection.

The special editions and new products designed for the anniversary collection are only available at Finnish Design Shop for a limited time. The designers include names such as Alvar and Aino Aalto, Ritva Puotila, Oiva Toikka and Paavo Tynell.
The new Taite salad servers by Antrei Hartikainen were designed for the anniversary collection. “The design of the servers started from a form-cut piece of steel sheet that could simply be bent into a more complex, cup-like form. To highlight the details, such as the pleat on the metal, everything unnecessary has been stripped away. You don't really need any special tricks to create something beautiful, it all started from very basic things and shapes,” Hartikainen says.
Besides the Taite salad servers, the anniversary collection contains several other collector's items of the future: for instance, the Aili Bird, designed by Oiva Toikka and manufactured at the Iittala glass factory, has only been produced in a special edition of 300 numbered pieces.
