The Pilke Signature 80 pendant by Pilke Lights provides an atmospheric glow to any space. As you might have guessed by the luminaire's name, the Pilke 80 pendant light has a diameter of 80 cm, making it ideal for larger rooms; its voluminous yet airy design looks particularly appealing when hung over a coffee table or a dining room table.
Pilke 80 is part of the simple yet ornamental Pilke Signature Collection designed by Tuukka Halonen. Crafted from birch plywood, the Pilke luminaires are an enchanting combination of technology and tradition: Halonen sought influences for the design from traditional Finnish wood crafts but utilized today’s manufacturing methods and materials. As a contemporary interpretation of shingle work, the lamps are characterised by a crystal-like pattern that filters the light pleasantly and casts beautiful shadows on the walls and ceiling. All Pilke lamps are designed and handcrafted in Finland.
Please note that in 2022, the lamp was updated slightly: the new version comes with a new black textile cord and a black ceiling cup in metal.

Tuukka Halonen es un diseñador finlandés conocido por sus hermosos luminarias de madera Pilke. Tuukka Halonen se graduó del Royal College of Art en Londres en 1998. Antes de establecer su propio estudio en 2005 en Halikko, Finlandia, Halonen trabajó como diseñador para Habitat.
La investigación de materiales y sus cualidades es un elemento definitorio en el trabajo de Halonen. Su obra combina materiales tradicionales y técnicas contemporáneas, creando un contraste interesante y dando nuevas y sorprendentes formas a materiales familiares como la madera.
