Description

Serax's Serving Spring plate sets the scene for springtime tables. Quite literally so, as Dutch artist and designer Nel Maertens drew inspiration from budding spring flowers when designing this beautiful serving plate. The delicately patterned ceramic plate celebrates new beginnings and feels perfectly at home at spring and early summer gatherings, or simply when bringing a fresh touch to more ordinary daily table settings.

Belgian visual artist and designer Nel Maertens (b. 1996) is known for her vibrant, high-energy expression. Originally from Antwerp, Maertens graduated with a Master’s degree in fashion from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2019, after which she developed her own multidisciplinary artistic practice. Her work moves fluidly between visual art, costume design, and performance, combining bold colors and dynamic shapes into inviting compositions that reflect both the rhythms of nature and shared personal experiences.
