Vaarnii's 019 Syy chopping board is an ode to the beauty of Finnish pine. Made from thick solid pine, the cutting board stands up to all kinds of chopping and slicing, yet it's beautiful enough to serve on at the table or simply admire as a decorative piece. The unique, almost psychedelic grain of the pine and its many knots create a bold pattern across the surface, which is exactly where the board gets its name: Syy, the Finnish word for grain. Thick, rounded edges soften the sturdy look of the medium-sized board. As pine ages, it takes on a honeyed tone, so with time and use, the Syy chopping board only grows more characterful.
