Stilnovo’s Minitopo table lamp is an Italian design classic created by Joe Colombo and introduced in 1970. Its dynamic form draws inspiration from 1960s automobiles. The glossy shade echoes the silhouette of a rounded car roof, while the slotted openings across the top resemble the air vents of vintage sports cars. The slender base, formed from a bent metal tube, continues the sense of motion with its flowing curves.
Providing downward-directed light, this playful table lamp works equally well as a reading light on a desk or bedside table, or as an eye-catching feature in a living room. Thanks to the adjustable shade, the light can be easily directed onto book pages or a craft project. Minitopo is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
