Description

The Art of Knitwear Repair, published by Cozy Publishing, celebrates a more mindful, sustainable way of living – choosing to mend rather than replace. With guidance from knitwear designer Minttu Wikberg, you’ll learn how to repair worn socks and sweaters back to their former glory, along with clever techniques that can even transform old garments into something entirely new. And as your favourite pieces gain a second life, you’ll also be making a small but meaningful choice for the planet, too! The thoughtful book is written in English.

Take a step back from the constant urge for something new. Embrace the beauty in wear and tear—and discover the joy of mending! Art of Knitwear Repair is all about the art of mending—a craft that, at its best, restores not only our clothes but also ourselves and the world around us. This book encourages us to care for our garments, whether you’re darning a sock or patching up a favourite jumper. It’s a gentle reminder to value what we already have.

Learn practical techniques for mending knitwear—from the simplest fixes to more decorative stitches. Let creative examples inspire you—sometimes, a mended item can be even better than new. You’ll also find tips on materials, garment care, and repurposing yarn. Mending goes beyond appearances—it’s part of a global movement to address the issues of textile waste and fast fashion.
