Description

Resting Cat by Vitra is a lovable, glazed ceramic figure who has curled up to deep sleep.

Designed by the Swedish Front for Vitra, the Resting Animals are characterized by a sleepy and smiling feeling and well-thought design. The collection resulted from a research project where Front asked people to name some of their most emotionally enriching and meaningful objects – majority of answers were some kind of animal figures. In their previous works Front has observed sleep and hibernation of animals. The Resting Animals combine these two themes into visually pleasing objects that surround themselves with experiences of joy, tranquillity and companionship.

Front is a Swedish design duo formed by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren. Their work has a strong emphasis on common discussions and explorations, and the final result often has a story to communicate. Front is also known their for surprising and experimental working methods, such as creating design with animals or machines. Front has collaborated with many well-known brands including Vitra, Tom Dixon, Kartell, Stelton and Swedese, and their work has been included in the collections of MoMA, Victoria & Albert Museum and Centre Pompidou.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

15% GST is included in all prices presented on our website.

Private customers: For orders of NZD$1,000 or less, a 15% GST is included in the prices. For orders over NZD$1,000, GST is collected by New Zealand customs and therefore deducted from the total amount. The deduction is visible in the cost breakdown at checkout.
