Kay Bojesen’s Story Bird Joy is a charming wooden bird finished with a glossy lacquer and coloured in soft pastel rainbow shades that blend beautifully into one another. Around its neck, Joy carries a small round name tag that also serves as a gentle reminder of the importance of everyday joy.
Inspired by the birds visiting his patio, Bojesen designed the Songbirds in the 1950s and named the original birds after his family members. Released in 2026, the glossy Story Bird figurines introduce enchanting gradient colour tones to the collection – the flowing hues reflect the endless spectrum of emotions, the layers of memories and life itself. The birds have a clean, modern expression, stripped of superfluous details, and yet are so lifelike that it is easy to imagine them breaking out in song as the sun rises.
