Ingo Maurer's Moodmoon White wall lamp brings together the timeless minimalism of Japanese aesthetics and the possibilities of modern technology. The idea of the luminaire was born during the pandemic in 2020, when designer Sebastian Hepting found himself reflecting on the many roles a home suddenly had to play: functioning at once as a workplace, a school, and a sanctuary at the same time. Moodmoon was his answer to all of these needs at once.
At the heart of the light's poetic character is a shade made from durable Japanese paper, backlit so that warm light glows softly through its surface. The result is a uniquely calming atmosphere that makes the Moodmoon White a natural choice for a bedside table or a quiet reading corner in the living room.
