Lautner
Description
Published by Taschen, Lautner provides a compact insight into the career of the American architect John Lautner (1911–1994), who created visionary buildings using modern building materials and a bold stylistic repertoire. Written by architect Barbara-Ann Campbell-Lange, the book is part of Taschen's Basic Architecture series that presents the life and work of internationally renowned architects with approximately 120 photographs, sketches and drafts. The series has been edited by German art historian Peter Gössel.
With his geometric structures perched upon the hillsides, beaches, and deserts of California, John Lautner is responsible for some of the most original buildings of the 20th century. This introductory book surveys his key works and his iconic aesthetic in an age of space-age technology, economic growth, and affluence.
