Description
Kartell's Alta Tensione is a charmingly sculptural coat stand by Enzo Mari, an Italian designer also known for his work as a modernist artist. The frame of the coat stand is made from sturdy steel, and clothes, bags and accessories can hang either from the slender aluminium hooks or from the wide hangers made of recycled plastic. Alta Tensione finds its place just as easily in a hallway at home as in an office, a hotel room or another public space.

Enzo Mari (1932–2020) was an Italian designer who also was known as a theorist and provocateur. The starting point of Enzo Mari's work is often theoretical, but the end result is always as functional as it is beautiful.
During his career, Enzo Mari completed more than 2,000 design projects, including the 16 animali puzzle (Danese, 1957), the Sof Sof chair (Driade, 1971), the Box chair (Castelli, 1975) and the Smith & Smith kitchen utensils (Zani & Zani, 1987). He received numerous awards for his work during his career, such as the Compasso d’Oro award, which he won as many as four times.
