The Onda Onda rug by CC-Tapis offers a modern take on the classic striped rug. Dynamic graphic elements ripple and break apart across the surface, creating a lively yet balanced pattern that celebrates designer Charles-Antoine Chappuis’ Brazilian roots.

Handcrafted in India by skilled artisans, the Onda Onda rug is made from high-quality, durable jute in the dhurrie technique. The sculptural, three-dimensional texture adds depth and warmth to any space, making the rug a striking yet harmonious addition to both homes and public interiors as well. The carefully curated, layered tones allow the Onda Onda rug to blend beautifully with many different interiors.

  • Notes Jute is a strong, versatile natural fiber with low environmental impact and subtle tonal variations that make each rug unique. It has been valued for centuries for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to abrasion and stains. Its thick, shiny fibers are ideal for hand-weaving, making jute a popular and eco-conscious choice for rugs.
  • Care instructions Jute is a durable, low-maintenance material. Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush to avoid damage. Spot clean with mild detergent and let air dry if wet. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not pull loose ends but tuck or trim and knot instead. Use a rug underlay to extend the lifespan.

Charles Antoine Chappuis

Swiss-Brazilian artist Charles Antoine Chappus draws on a fusion of craft traditions and the use of natural materials. In his studio, he develops textile-like structures and often lets the material itself guide his creative expression. The result is wild, playfully familiar yet subtly surprising forms. Chappus’s work has been exhibited around the world, including at Vitra during Salone del Mobile in Milan, at Cibone in Tokyo, M.A.H Gallery in London and the Whitney Museum shop in New York City.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
