The Omote Haki rug by CC-Tapis grounds the room with calm elegance. Inspired by traditional Japanese tatami mats, the rug’s harmonious and solid presence brings a sense of serenity to any interior. In the hands of designer Mae Engelgeer, this classic aesthetic takes a fresh, contemporary turn: thanks to its playful colours, Omote Haki also acts as a bold visual statement that effortlessly anchors the atmosphere of any space.

Handwoven from natural materials – jute, wool, and cotton – Omote Haki rugs are available in various sizes. Choose a large version to define the heart of your living room, or go with the narrow runner to bring refined rhythm to a hallway or entrance.

  • Notes Jute is a strong, eco-friendly fiber with natural tone variations, making each rug one-of-a-kind. Wool felt adds durability and sound absorption. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading, and rotate the rug occasionally to minimize uneven wear and color change.
  • Care instructions Vacuum gently and without a beater brush. Spot clean with mild detergent, let air dry flat. For wool felt, blot spills immediately and clean gently with a wool-safe detergent. Avoid sunlight and heat. Trim loose threads – do not pull. Use an underlay for added protection.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
