Description

Nanimarquina's Lucia Eames Butterfly jute rug is a bold choice with personality to spare, equally striking in private homes and public spaces alike. The butterfly-shaped rug is hand-woven from natural jute, which is durable, easy to care for, biodegradable, and kind to the environment. It brings an earthy warmth and natural texture to any interior.

The butterfly was a recurring motif in the work of Lucia Eames, daughter of Charles Eames, who often found her inspiration in the wonders of nature — butterflies and birds among them. Now those same winged creatures find new life in the collaborative collection that bears her name, a partnership between rug brand nanimarquina, the Eames Office, and Danish studio Form Portfolios.

Lucia Eames

American artist and designer Lucia Dewey Eames (1930–2014) grew up surrounded by design. Her father, Charles Eames, and stepmother, Ray Eames, helped shape 20th-century design. She also studied at Radcliffe College under Walter Gropius, among others. Eames' own artistic career developed from the 1960s onwards, and from the very beginning, her work was drawn to the natural world, from the sun to butterflies and flowers.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
