The Iris rug is part of Finarte’s 40th anniversary collection, a series that celebrates the brand’s most beloved treasures and the unique stories behind them. Designed by Finarte’s founder, textile artist Eija Rasinmäki, the cotton rug offers a fresh, contemporary interpretation of the traditional Finnish rag rug. It draws inspiration from the spirit of the 1930s, yet brings a delightful sense of modern lightness to the pattern and palette.

Handwoven from 100% upcycled cotton, the Iris rug is a responsible, beautiful, and practical choice for everyday living. The rug thrives in spaces where life naturally leaves its mark — kitchens, hallways, living rooms, and children’s rooms — adding a touch of updated craftsmanship and soft, inviting colour wherever it’s placed.

Eija Rasinmäki

Eija Rasinmäki (b. 1945) has left a distinctive mark on the everyday lives of Finnish homes for decades. The textile artist founded her first weaving mill in Loimaa in 1970, and over the years, her unique rag rugs and other rug designs have found their way into both Finnish department stores and international markets. She is also one of the co-founders of the rug brand Finarte and served as the company’s longtime head designer.

Rasinmäki’s work is defined by an uncompromising dedication to quality materials, Finnish craftsmanship and its traditions, as well as a strong drive to push rug design forward in bold new ways. Her life’s work has been widely recognised: she has been granted an artist’s pension, and she received the prestigious Pro Finlandia Medal in 2022.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

We want you to love your purchase—that’s why we offer 30-day returns.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
