Interested in staying at the Paimio Sanatorium? Renovated rooms in the main building are now available for booking

Attention all Aalto fans! Seven patient rooms in the Paimio Sanatorium in Finland, originally designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto, have been renovated and are available for overnight stays during the summer season of 2024.

It is now possible to stay overnight in the main building of the Paimio Sanatorium.

IF YOU'RE interested in staying at the Paimio Sanatorium designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto, now is your chance! Patient rooms on the second floor of the sanatorium, which was completed in 1933, have been renovated into accommodation rooms. Starting from May 2024, you can spend the night in this world-renowned main building.

The original patient beds have been restored for guests.

The authentic guest rooms reflect the timeless and functional style of the building. The colors and furnishings of the rooms adhere to the original architectural ambiance. These calming spaces come alive with the morning light and offer views directly into the surrounding pine forest.

The original patient beds of the sanatorium have been restored for new use, with a strong emphasis on preserving the original atmosphere. The beds are complemented by high-quality bedding and mattresses from the Finnish company Villa ja Peite Oy. Finnish Design Shop's Contact Sales have supplied some of the interior products for the rooms.

Staying at the Paimio Sanatorium offers a retreat amidst Finnish pine forest and Aalto architecture.

As their name suggests, the Retreat rooms offer experiences centered around Aalto architecture, nature, and design. The second-floor room complex is communal, featuring a shared workspace and lounge area, as well as common WC and shower facilities. Seven rooms have been renovated in the main building, including twin rooms for two people and single rooms.

In addition to the renovated patient rooms, Paimio Sanatorium will also host art exhibitions, guided architecture tours, and cultural events during the summer season of 2024.
