Verona pendant 400, white
Description
LYFA's Verona pendant lamp is a timeless design classic from 1968, designed by Sven Middleboe. The Danish designer sought inspiration from Arena di Verona, a Roman-era amphitheater, the rows of which inspired the ceiling light’s seven expertly finessed ring shades.
Combining beauty and practicality, Verona showcases the softer side of light, only achieved through an uncompromising design process. The aluminum shades are placed in a way that hides the light source from view, while the luminaire itself seems to glow all the more magically. Perfect for above the dining table among other nooks in the home, the pendant lamp is still assembled by hand, with such precision that the suspensions between the shades are nowhere to be seen – making it seem as if they are afloat.

Sven Middelboe (1910–2001) is best known as a lighting designer. In the late 1940s, the Danish designer ran a company specializing in the manufacturing of lighting with designer-architect Jørn Utzon, and later he worked as the in-house designer for Nordisk Solar Company. The experimentally-minded Middelboe's most memorable work includes the Verona pendant, found in LYFA's product offering.
