Description

Kähler’s Kantarel candle holder takes both its name and form from the golden beauty of the forest – the chanterelle mushroom. Designed by Thora Finnsdottir, the ceramic candle holder features delicate, gill-like shapes and a base that gently widens downward, reminiscent of an upside-down chanterelle. A glossy colored glaze adds a beautiful, luminous finish to the sculptural form.

The handcrafted candlestick is designed for a single taper candle, and its sculptural form makes it a charming decorative piece even on its own.

Thora Finnsdottir

Thora Finnsdottir is an Icelandic-Danish artist and designer who works across ceramics, design and visual art. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Finnsdottir is interested in reinterpreting familiar, universal forms through a sculptural approach that honors texture and materiality. She designs both functional objects and art pieces, and her work reflects a deep appreciation for minimalist yet expressive Nordic design.
