GUBI’s Croissant sofa is by midcentury Danish architect and designer Ilum Wikkelsø, who believed that the furniture was made to last, indulge the body as well as please the eye. Originally designed in 1962, the Croissant represents a more playful and relaxed take on the traditional Chesterfield-style furniture.
The personal and distinctive shape, inspired by French pastry, reflects the designer’s ingenuity and sense of humor. The solid wood frame and soft plush seating of the furniture ensure a comfortable stay no matter the angle at which you sit. The hand-stitched Croissant sofa makes a beautiful and sculptural statement alone or works well together with the Croissant lounge chairs from the same series.
