The Leva chair by Mattiazzi is inspired by the efficiency of an oar, which is based on both the material and shape: the armrests bent from a single piece of wood expand at the center to an oar-like backrest, supporting the back ergonomically and comfortably. Sustainability is also embedded in the design, allowing Mattiazzi’s craftsmen to use as little material as possible in the production process. The Leva chair is designed by Norman Foster’s architectural firm Foster + Partners.
