Description

Korbo Umbrella Bin is a beautiful handwoven basket that, due to its height, is the perfect umbrella stand. Umbrella Bin comes with a practical removable base, so it can be placed indoors without the need to worry about water dripping on the floor.

The Swedish company Korbo started manufacturing wire baskets in 1922, and the weaving technique has remained the same ever since. The baskets are woven by hand from a single long wire completely without welding. Thanks to the unique manufacturing technique and the superior materials, the baskets will last for a lifetime. First used by farmers and fisherman, the Korbo baskets are a great addition to any garden and household.

    Lovely woven brass umbrella holder. The cast iron insert forms a stabile basis. The holder came with round plastic clip-on feet that one can use go prevent the brass wire from scratching surfaces. This can take a while in order to find the right position: a little more to one side and the bin becomes wobbly. One thing I'm not sure of is the handle: it seems unnecessary and throws the symmetry off balance a little bit. Comparing this Korbo item to f.i. Japanese woven brass products, the price is rather low. Perhaps though, weave-precision is not quite as immaticulate. I'm looking forward to see the brass and cast iron becoming more harmonious as the patina (untreated brass) slowly translates in a golden brown.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

15% GST is included in all prices presented on our website.

Private customers: For orders of NZD$1,000 or less, a 15% GST is included in the prices. For orders over NZD$1,000, GST is collected by New Zealand customs and therefore deducted from the total amount. The deduction is visible in the cost breakdown at checkout.

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by local customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.
