Lightweight bench, oiled oak
Description
The Lightweight bench by Form & Refine is a multifunctional piece of furniture designed by Herman Studio that functions both as an additional seat and a side or coffee table. As the name implies, the bench is extremely light and therefore easy to move around as needed. Skillfully made oak, the bench comprises a sturdy frame and a seat made up of wood slats which add an elegant detail to the bench’s otherwise very minimalist look.
“With Lightweight, we wanted to pay tribute to classic carpentry traditions by constructing the furniture with beautiful and old-style wooden joints. We wanted to make a light impact furniture in both a visual and physical sense which reflects the quality grounded in our contemporary design language. The design is graphically tight but at the same time soft and tactile when used,” Herman Studio’s Helle Herman Mortensen and Jonas Herman Pedersen have said.
