Stick floor lamp, black
Description
Catellani & Smith's Light Stick floor lamp, designed by Enzo Catellani, is an exquisitely minimalist light fixture that, true to its name, resembles a glowing stick. Comprising a base and a slender, vertical stem, the lamp houses an integrated, dimmable LED light source that fills the room with gentle illumination, radiating surprisingly broadly despite its narrow form.
The Light Stick series originated when Catellani began experimenting with the first LED circuits available on the market, aiming to create a lamp so simple that the focus would be entirely on the light itself. This nearly invisible design also marked a shift in Catellani's quite dramatic style, steering it toward a light and airy minimalism. Each Light Stick lamp is handcrafted in Italy.

Enzo Catellani (b. 1950) is an Italian lighting designer and the founder of the lighting company Catellani & Smith. A self-taught designer, Catellani began his career by crafting lamps in his own workshop in Bergamo. His designs gained popularity at the 1989 Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, leading him to establish his own company that same year. Catellani's design philosophy emphasises the interplay between materials and light, technical quality, and a sense of playfulness, with a focus on creating lights that evoke emotion and set a mood. His lamps and installations can also be found in London's Victoria and Albert Museum and in the garden of the Milan Triennale.
