Carl Hansen & Søn's PK1 chair pairs a thoroughly functional design with organic forms and natural materials. Originally introduced in 1955, the PK1 chair was one of the breakthrough works by Danish designer Poul Kjærholm, and it beautifully embodies the aesthetics of 20th-century Danish Modern. The sleek frame of the PK1 chair is made of steel, and its seat is handwoven from paper cord – crafting a single chair takes a skilled craftsman about 15 hours.
The durable and streamlined PK1 chair is an excellent choice as a dining chair or minimalist desk chair, as well as a standalone chair in any room. Thanks to its stackable design, the chairs are easy to move aside for cleaning and can be conveniently stored even in limited spaces.
