Description

Ingo Maurer's Nalum pendant light captures the living, breathing energy of ocean waves in light form. At the pendant light's heart float two handcrafted glass tubes that create mesmerising lines of light through layers of reflection. The outer tube houses a magnetically attached light source that casts light both upward and downward, and both light sources can be dimmed independently.

But true to Ingo Maurer's spirit, the Nalum doesn't stop there – it invites you to touch and explore. Moving the inner glass tube shifts the reflections into entirely new and inspiring configurations. And if you're feeling particularly playful, the included human figurine can be placed on the crest of the light wave, ready to surf.

German designer Sebastian Hepting is best known for his lighting designs. He began his career in New York as an assistant to Vladimir Kagan, before his path led him to Japan, where he discovered the local craft tradition under the guidance of legendary furniture and product designer Toshiyuki Kita. Since 2003, Hepting has collaborated closely with Ingo Maurer, developing his own lighting designs as well as contributing to a range of other innovative projects. His work consistently brings together technical ingenuity, quality craftsmanship, and – of course – atmospheric light. His Moodmoon lamp received the New York City Design Award in 2021, and Candlelight, created in collaboration with KAIA Lighting, won the German Design Award in 2023.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms
