Description

Nedre Foss's Laguz is a sculptural cast iron object designed by Julie Richoz, equally at home as a bookend, paperweight, or art object in its own right. Its expressive form echoes elements of 1920s German Expressionism, while the handle at the top is reminiscent of traditional iron weights. Made in Sweden, this substantial cast iron piece weighs about three kilograms.

The name Laguz refers to the l-rune of the ancient Germanic Futhark runic alphabet, associated with water, intuition, emotions, and the subconscious. Strongly symbolic yet open to interpretation, Laguz can be seen as a rune, an animal-like figure, or a reflection of one's own imagination.

Julie Richoz

Julie Richoz (b. 1990) is a Swiss-French designer based in Paris. She established her own studio in 2015, and her clients include brands such as Mattiazzi, Alessi, Louis Poulsen and Louis Vuitton. Richoz has graduated from ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne), where she has also been teaching design since 2017.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
