When designing the Pastis chair, the French designer Julien Renault wanted to create an extremely versatile chair that would bring warmth, elegance and the feel of high-quality craftsmanship to any space. The Pastis chairs are made of veneered wood and are available in a range of finishes.

Julien Renault is a French-born designer based in Brussels. He has studied industrial design in ESAD Design & Art School in Portugal and ECAL in Switzerland, and worked for example at Studio Bouroullec in Paris. In his own studio, Renault has designed furniture and accessories for brands including Mattiazzi and Hem, and he also engages in creative direction and photography.

These are beautiful chairs that I'm very happy to have, see, and use every day. They are sturdy while also being lighter in weight than the old chairs I had. It's nice that they are stackable. They also have a good seat height that is not overly high for a short person.
