Como SC53 portable table lamp, red brown
Description
&Tradition’s Como SC53 is a rechargeable, portable table lamp designed by Space Copenhagen. Made of aluminum, the Como lamp is composed of a cone-shaped base with a wide shade that directs the light downwards and to the sides. Thanks to the 3-level dimmer, Como can be used as a reading light or a mood light.
You can charge the Como lamp using a USB cable or a separately sold charging base. One charge provides light for about 11 hours at the highest setting, and the lamp has also space for an extra battery. The cordless construction makes it easy to move the lamp whenever needed, and it is well suited for cabins, outdoor dinners, and other spaces with limited electricity.

Space Copenhagen is a Danish design studio founded by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou in 2005. The studio is known for its multidisciplinary work, which extends from interior architecture to furniture, lighting and art projects.
Space Copenhagen describes its approach to design with the concept of ”Poetic Modernism”, which refers to a balance between the classic and the modern, and between sculptural and minimalist esthetics. The products they have designed can be found in the collections of &Tradition and Tameko, among others.
Space Copenhagen – poetic modernism and timeless spaces
Founded in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen works widely across different areas of design: the studio’s projects include interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants as well as furniture, lighting, art installations and object design.
A balance of opposites
Space Copenhagen describes its own design philosophy with the term ”Poetic Modernism”, at the heart of which is the combining of opposites: classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimalist. The tension between these different elements creates spaces and objects that are at once alive in the present moment and timeless.
Space Copenhagen’s work also places emphasis on understanding human behavior and experience – the design always starts from how spaces and objects are used.
Architecture, restaurants and design classics
Space Copenhagen has designed several internationally renowned interiors, such as the 11 Howard hotel in New York and the interiors of the Copenhagen restaurant Geranium and the first Noma restaurant.
In the field of product design, Space Copenhagen has collaborated with several Danish and international manufacturers – they have designed furniture, lighting and homeware for GUBI, &Tradition, Fredericia and Tameko, among others.

Not only does the lamp look good, but it is also solid-built. I appreciate the ability to swap out the light bulb and the rechargeable batteries, makes it much more long-lasting and wearproof. Keep in mind though, that this is a decorative mood light / bedside lamp and it cannot replace your regular desk lamp, as it simply wouldn't be bright enough.
