The Apollo rug is part of Finarte’s 40th anniversary collection, a series that celebrates the brand’s most beloved treasures and the unique stories behind them. Designed by Finarte’s founder, textile artist Eija Rasinmäki, the rug offers a delightful, modern reinterpretation of the traditional Finnish rag rug.
Handwoven from upcycled cotton, the Apollo rug was born at a time when there was a desire for calmer, more spacious patterns alongside the vivid, multicoloured rag rugs of the past. The harmonious yet distinctive motif makes the rug especially well-suited to larger spaces, where its character can truly shine. By the way: did you know that the rug’s first iteration, Aralia, was originally designed in 1985 — the very same year Finarte itself was founded.
