Fredericia’s Canvas chair from 1970 is among Danish designer Børge Mogensen’s final works. He created the chair as a response to the colourful plastic furniture of the time, aiming to bring a sense of Scandinavian harmony and natural warmth back into homes through clean lines and high-quality materials.
The Canvas outdoor chair reflects Mogensen’s signature minimalist approach. Its strong vertical and horizontal lines are characteristic of his style, highlighting the contrast between the canvas stretched between rounded elements and the rectangular teak wood frame. Despite its angular structure, the Canvas lounge chair has a calm, balanced presence that adapts easily to a variety of outdoor settings.
