Description

Audo Copenhagen's Kubus candleholder was designed in 1962 by the Danish architect and designer Mogens Lassen. Lassen, inspired by the Bauhaus movement, wanted to protest against excessive ornamentation and created a geometric, sharp-edged and stripped-down candleholder. Over time, Kubus has become one of the classics of Danish design, delighting both homes and public spaces with its minimalist elegance.

Mogens Lassen

The Danish architect Mogens Lassen (1901-1987) was a pioneer of Danish functionalism. In 1927 he left to work for an engineering company, but he did not enjoy the work nor speak French. Paris however changed Lassen’s view on architecture and when he returned to Denmark he established his own studio. 

Along with working in architecture Lassen also designed furniture and other objects, and his Kubus candlestick has become an icon of Danish design. Lassen started designing the first Kubus long before it was first produced in 1962 - the Kubus candlesticks were not put on the market, and Lassen gave them to family members and friends. The grandchildren and grand-grandchildren of Lassen established the design company By Lassen in 2008 to honor the work of Mogens Lassen and his brother Flemming Lassen.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
150 €.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over 3000 €.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from 29 € to 149 €  and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

As a member, you’ll enjoy even better free shipping benefits on small items:

  • Level 2: Free shipping for orders over 129 €
  • Level 3–4: Free shipping for orders over 99 €

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
